The first Metallica song I heard was Enter
Sandman, I liked it but didn't have any cash to go and buy any of their
albums. A few years later, I saw Metallica live on MTV at the Roseland
Ballroom, playing Covers from the Garage Inc. album. I thought the
performance was awesome. With growing up listening to bands like Nirvana
and Rage against the Machine, I found that the attitude and energy of the
band on stage (along with the trademark "Hetfield yeah!!" and Kirk's
solos) was unlike anything I'd ever heard. I went in search of the album
(Garage Inc.). I bought it and that's where it all started - I bought more
albums, DVDs and then started getting little things such as the SMITI
Master of Puppets stage set and stuff like that. I then decided to get a
ninja star tattooed on my right arm and am currently eyeing up some other
Metallica designs I can get inked in. |

I would probably say that "The Four
Horsemen" is my favourite, closely followed by "Battery" and
"Blackened". Some other favourites are "No Remorse", "Dyers Eve", "Ride
the Lightning", "Metal Militia" and.... (the list goes on). |

I've only been to 2 Metallica gigs; Leeds
2003 and Download 2004. With Leeds being my first gig, I got a real buzz
from it and got close enough to feel the heat of the flames in "Blackened"
and "Fuel" - an awesome gig! But Download proved to be just as special.
With the absence of Lars, I witnessed a truly memorable show, with Dave
Lombardo and Joey Jordison stepping up (along with Fleming, of course!)
This gig, although cut short, was an unforgettable day and well worth the
wait. |

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting
the band yet, so I suppose (alongside the two gigs I've been to),
getting my tattoo was a pretty awesome Metallica experience. 55 minutes
of pure pain and adrenaline, paid for by my ex-girlfriend! oops.
